The CTA Westminster Conference: Collaboration and Partnerships

Charlotte Banner

We’re excited that this year’s Westminster Conference is getting closer! Join us on the 22nd November at the Institution of Civil Engineers’ beautiful venue in Westminster.

It’s going to be a great day of collaboration and discussion and we are delighted to welcome back the Department for Transport and our key note speaker Andrew Jones MP, Under-Secretary of State for Transport.

The conference offers our members the opportunity to debate, consider and discuss the future of our sector and have the space to create new partnerships and take away ideas for future collaboration.

To enable this to happen, we’ve created two new sessions to introduce you to organisations who we believe will give you the opportunity to think differently about your work but also to consider how collaboration could support your charity’s aims and objectives.

These sessions include:

Building Partnerships: Considering how we can create opportunities for community transport to be a partner in delivering major transport initiatives.

New directions in community transport: Exploring alternative transport solutions that are pushing the boundaries to improve mobility – showcasing initiatives from the shared transport movement and community transport.

Our speakers this year are from a mixture of organisation some of whom you may already be working with, like JMP consultants / SYSTRA, Virgin Trains East Coast, Car Plus and ATSL. But we are also introducing new partners including High Speed Two, WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) and Amey- an organisation who are working on the future of transport with autonomous vehicles.

Another change to this year is the introduction of an exhibition space within One Great George Street’s beautiful Great Hall. This will give you the opportunity to meet our speakers and talk to new organisations about your work. We have also asked some of our members to exhibit, sharing their experience and best practice. This is part of our belief that, in forming partnerships, we need to be truly collaborative: sharing our experiences and knowledge and hearing from others about theirs.

With four months to go we’re nearly half full, so take a look at the full programme, and book your place, here. We’ll look forward to seeing you there!
