Introducing our Support and Engagement Executives

Amanda Banner

In 2016 we launched our new mission, vision and strategic priorities for the Community Transport Association.

Our vision is a world where people can shape and create their own accessible and inclusive transport solutions.

Our mission is to realise this vision through three strategic priorities:

1. Championing accessible and inclusive transport.

2. Connecting people and ideas.

3. Strengthening our members & raising standards.

My role within CTA is Advice and Member Services Manager. I work with our members to promote high standards of practice in community transport and support them to deliver excellent services.

To strengthen our support for our members, I’m really pleased to announce an exciting change and introduce our Support and Engagement Executives who will be at the front-line of our outreach work.

Our new Support and Engagement Executives will be responsible for developing our support programmes and will look for opportunities to make a difference on behalf of the people and communities who need transport that is accessible and inclusive so that everything else in life can be accessible and inclusive too. Their work will focus on outreach with members and other local stakeholders to identify support needs, recommend and co-design solutions and to increase take-up of CTA-led initiatives.

In England we welcome Steff Riches, previously our Training Coordinator, and Emma Sims both of whom are based in our Manchester office.

In Scotland we welcome Cathy Jamieson who is based in our Edinburgh office.

Carl Gough, David Brooks and Lindsay Haveland may be familiar to some of you as Support and Development Officers based in North and South Wales. They have now changed to become Support and Engagement Executives  which means we have six people working collaboratively across the UK to coordinate the delivery of our advice service and to support our members on the ground.

These changes will help us continue to build our reach, relationships and reputation. Our new Support and Engagement Executives will be uniquely placed to work with and support our members, government and other charities to help them answer the big questions they face about how to make transport more accessible and inclusive.

If you feel you would benefit from making contact with our Support and Engagement Executives to see how they can help, please get in touch at hello@ctauk.org
